Permian Basin OOOOb Compliance Walk Downs
Oil & Gas | Upstream
Location | New Mexico & Texas
The Challenge
The client required accurate and verifiable greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data for existing facilities across the Permian Basin. Many sites contained incomplete or outdated equipment records within their asset management system, making it essential to validate and update information for all Tier 1 equipment. The challenge involved performing field verification across multiple locations while ensuring that collected data was complete, traceable, and compatible with the client’s digital documentation systems.
The Solution
Halker deployed field teams to perform comprehensive facility walkdowns to collect detailed emissions and equipment data. Using electronic tablets equipped with the client’s mobile application interface, teams documented each Tier 1 equipment item—including photographs, specifications, and condition notes—and verified existing information within the client’s SAP PM system.
Where discrepancies were found, Halker’s team updated and corrected data entries to ensure accuracy and consistency. For equipment lacking accessible serial numbers in the field, Halker applied unique identifiers to maintain traceability. This systematic approach provided the client with an accurate, complete, and verifiable equipment dataset to support their greenhouse gas emissions reporting and ongoing regulatory compliance.
